How to stay well this Winter: top tips from the experts at Phelan’s Pharmacy

With the unpredictable Irish Winter weather, and the inevitable hectic few weeks leading in to Christmas, we often find ourselves feeling a little run down and fighting off a cold or flu on occassion. And if you're like us, you're often reaching for remedies to help you keep well and feel your best. 

We've asked Brian Tynan, pharmacist and proprietor of Phelan's Pharmacy on Michael Street, to give us his top tips for staying well this Winter. 

Get your Winter Flu and COVID vaccines

In winter, seasonal flu and COVID 19 can become a serious health concern for those at risk. Now is time to get your flu and COVID vaccines to protect yourself and your loved ones this season. Here at Phelan's Pharmacy, we offer a walk-in service with no appointment necessary. 

Boost your immune system

Getting the right vitamins, minerals and probiotics goes a long way to boosting your immune system, but it's not always easy to know what you need. We recommend Berocca, Sona, Revive and Alflorex, but it's worth popping in to our expert pharmacy team so they can advise and recommend a vitamin supplement that's right for you. 

Protect your skin from the cold weather

In the harsh Irish weather, our skin can take a bit of a beating, so we recommend picking up a great skin barrier cream to help protect your face, neck and hands. We love the La Roche Posay Cicaplast range. It is a multi-purpose miracle cream that soothes, repairs and protects skin from harsh weather and infection in one application.
