Winterval Closing Event: Lumina Christmas Concert

Waterford's most exciting young choir, Lumina, are proud to present their second annual Christmas concert. The programme will feature a selection of well-loved Christmas carols and songs, alongside a mix of both new and traditional Christmas choral music.

Lumina is comprised of alumni from the SETU Choral Programme. Just one year after reforming, the choir has already been awarded Choir of the Festival at the New Ross AIMS Choral Festival in both 2024 and 2025. The choir is conducted by Niall Crowley and accompanied by Sinéad Crowley.

The concert will also showcase the talents of cellist Sophie Kirby, as well as the Cadence Quartet, an ensemble of past students of the SETU Music School: Lucy Kirby, Cillian Drohan, Moya Glynn, and Sophie Kirby. These accomplished musicians have extensive experience as both soloists and ensemble players, with many having performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland and the Ulster Youth Orchestra.

In addition to Lumina, there will be a special performance by the SETU Choral Programme Alumni. Although many of these singers are now based elsewhere, they are currently performing with some of the finest choirs in Ireland and abroad. They greatly value the opportunity to reunite and sing together at their annual December 23rd gathering. Singers are travelling from across Ireland, the UK, France, Norway, and beyond to take part in this festive occasion.

Take a moment away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy an evening filled with Christmas music and community spirit. You won't be disappointed!
