Notable Works and Project Music Management present Handel´s Messiah on December 3rd in St. John´s Church. The previous night it will be performed in Kilkenny, in St. Canice´s Cathedral as part of their YuleFest. This team was founded to bring back large scale orchestral and choral music to the City, and this performance will feature a mix of local, national and international stars, making it unique and innovative, something the City of Waterford can me proud of. The performers list includes Niamh Murray (soprano), Sandra Wickham (Mezzo), John Andert (tenor), Peter Fristrup (bass), Jacob Shaw (cello), David Lau Magnussen (harpsichord), with it all being brought together by a wonderful group of choral sectional leaders. The choir is made up of singers from Waterford, Carlow, Tipperary, Kilkenny and Wexford, with the final performances being directed by Kevin O´Carroll. This really is an international community event, befitting of this time of year, and fitting nicely into Winterval. The event will be presented by retired RTE Newscaster Michael Murphy, whom will have his latest book for sale on the evening, and will be signing it.
